Hannah Duggan’s practice utilizes ceramics and painting to examine digital culture, media and her personal reflections as a viewer. Within her work, she considers the mental impact of growing up with access to the internet. Hannah received her BFA in Painting and Drawing from the University of Georgia and recently received her MFA in Studio Art from the University of Massachusetts - Amherst in 2022. She currently teaches painting and drawing at Central Michigan University. She has been featured in multiple art publications including Create! Magazine and Friend of the Artist, and has shown in numerous museums and galleries throughout the United States. She has attended artist residencies including Chautauqua School of Art and most recently The Banff Centre.
“The central theme of her work revolves around the examination of moral ambivalences that persist within society's collective consciousness. By extracting thought-provoking moments from the digital landscape, Duggan challenges viewers to reflect on their own engagement with the vast online network and its implications on their perceptions and beliefs.”
